Ingredients
Optional Burger Seasoning Mix
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Easy Burger Sauce
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
Burgers
- 1 pound ground chuck (90/10)
For Serving
- 3 potato or brioche buns
- 6 slices American cheese
- Nonstick spray
- Green lettuce leaves
- Thinly sliced red onion
- Thinly sliced fresh tomato
Method
1. Prepare the Seasoning Mix (Optional)
In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside.
2. Make the Burger Sauce
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and ketchup until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to use.
3. Form the Burger Patties
- Preheat a large, heavy skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium heat, or preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Divide the ground beef into three equal portions (about 1/3 pound each).
- Gently shape each portion into a 1/2‑inch‑thick disc, creating a shallow divot in the center to prevent doming during cooking.
- If using the seasoning mix, sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon per side onto each patty.
