  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Method

1. Prepare the Seasoning Mix (Optional)

In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside.

2. Make the Burger Sauce

In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and ketchup until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to use.

3. Form the Burger Patties

  1. Preheat a large, heavy skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium heat, or preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Divide the ground beef into three equal portions (about 1/3 pound each).
  3. Gently shape each portion into a 1/2‑inch‑thick disc, creating a shallow divot in the center to prevent doming during cooking.
  4. If using the seasoning mix, sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon per side onto each patty.
